As a mother, we are always putting our children before ourselves. The kids need new shoes? Done. Another dress? Bought. However if we need a new bra or shoes, we hold on until it is either holey or so badly stained not even good ole Napisan can remove it. It is so important to take some me time & look after your self! I am so proud of Zoey for doing something for herself. Not just any something, something amazing and empowering FOR HER! And she absolutely nailed it! I ask my clients to fill out a questionnaire after their session. I have heard from so many clients booking in , just how much of a role the answers play when deciding whether or not to book. So get comfy and read Zoey's take on her session. Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing this session? Plenty - body image and self confidence What made you take the leap of faith to do a boudoir session? I just held my breath and did it Did I provide enough pre-session info? Yes How did you feel BEFORE your session? Nervous and scared How did you like working with my team? Did you love your hair & makeup? Both were amazing and I loved them not only on the day but most importantly in the photos How would you describe the session? (poses, direction, comfort level, thoughts, FEELINGS) It was interesting! Haha! Lauren was great with direction as to poses etc. I was obviously very nervous at the start and although never completely at home I did feel better as the shoot progressed. Was the session different than you expected? If so, how? It was much like I had expected except I hadn't thought I would end up feeling comfortable. How did you feel AFTER your session? Immediately after the session I felt good, but when I seen the sneak peak that night I felt AMAZING! What was your favorite part? The sneak peak! What was your least favorite part? Feeling like my boobs were going to fall out of the outfits. Would you ever do another session? Yes. How did you feel when you saw your images? Amazed that it was me and proud of myself for going through with it. I was a bit in disbelief that I could appear in a finished product like that. My son, who is two, happened to see the sneak peak when I showed my husband and commented: "That's my Mummy." And that was probably the best thing. Yep, I am absolutely a mum and my body still shows impacts from carrying my two children. But I looked okay (well, okay - good!) in those photos! Did anything change about the way you see yourself after the session? It made me see that I definitely have good parts of my body and it doesn't need to be perfect. I can still be happy with me. Do you have any advice for women considering doing a boudoir session?
Do it! Seriously. I was THE most negative person heading into it and I am usually SO positive. I was convinced I was going to break Lauren and even though she is an amazing, amazing photographer and very, very talented that she wouldn't get ones single shot I liked. I narrowed it down to 30 something I LOVED at my reveal! The whole process- being pampered with hair and makeup is awesome. And it is wonderful to have these memories to look back on. Any final thoughts on your session, or anything you'd like other woman to know? Seriously - take the plunge and do a shoot. And even if you are really, really nervous and scared - take a breath and do it. It's the best!
